Annette Wilson
Candidate for CFA Director At Large

It has been my honor and pleasure to serve the past four years on the CFA Board of Directors.  This is an exciting time for CFA as the pedigreed cat is featured in movies, on talk shows, in advertising and on websites.  As the public is more and more aware of the delights of owning a pedigreed cat, our organization is in a prime position to leverage the meaning of a CFA registration.

Our CFA clubs see a public better educated about cats in general with a strong interest in pedigreed cats.  The CFA Ambassador Program sees that spectator’s questions are answered.  New exhibitors and breeders are at the shows, assisted in many cases through the CFA Mentorship Program.  The cat fancy is indeed global as CFA shows expand throughout Europe. Asia and Latin America.

CFA is in the forefront of feline health, welfare, disaster relief and legislation—because these things matter to YOU as a breeder, an exhibitor and a pet owner.   While the organization is no longer “just” a registering body, there is no doubt that a CFA registration has cachet all over the world.

Your CFA board members participate daily in the business of CFA—planning, organizing, communicating and working on committees.  The CFA Breeds and Standards Committee, which I currently chair, assists with the Breed Council balloting process, keeps a database of MISC and PROV cats shown throughout the year, chairs a meeting in June between the BC secretaries and the CFA Board and meets with the BC secretaries to review processes and procedures.  I also participate as a member of the Management Committee.

CFA is a service organization—providing and expanding those services to breeders, exhibitors and clubs is our BUSINESS.  We continue to work on ways for CFA’s customers to have enhanced services, even with cost controls.  I firmly believe that the distinctiveness  of our breeds and the integrity of our registry should remain our primary focus.   The Board’s commitment to fiscal responsibility is evident in the tough decisions that have had to be made to maintain our core business.

I continue to fully participate in CFA:

►        as a  breeder of Russian Blues since 1976
►        as an active exhibitor since 1973
►        as a participating member of both a breed club and a show-producing club
►        as a past Russian Blue breed council secretary and  breed council member
►        as a delegate to every CFA Annual since 1982
►        as CFA Southern Region treasurer from 2001 to 2005
►        as a CFA judge since 1987

In “real life” I am a Senior National Account Manager in the insurance claims field where I have developed skills that are useful as a Board member:  communication, organization, negotiation, accountability and customer service.  I ask for your support and vote so I may continue working on the CFA Board as Director At Large and I welcome your questions and input.  Contact me at
